I was a little bit more busy than expected on other projects but MarScaper HDR 1.3.0 is here today.
MarScaper HDR continues its progress and its free updates. After adjusting the paintbrush (simplifying the layers) and batch processing (automatically processing dozens of HDR images), I decided to do a thorough revamp of the alignment function for photographs taken without a tripod. So version 1.3 also integrates rotation and perspective correction along with vertical/horizontal stabilization. But this isn't limited to automatic alignment. All of the software is evolving as a result, with a new real-time graphics engine…

The manual control and alignment tool has also been revamped to offer even more flexibility with a new multi-magnification and multi-level system…

Content update:
- Improved automatic and manual alignment with support for perspective correction and rotation.
- Improved graphics engine.
- Exposure compensation function to facilitate the comparison of images.
- Ability to export original image bracketing.
- During export, automatically resizes possibly shifted images.
- Memory of backups and saves
- Incremental loading of thumbnail bracketing.
- Update of the ExifTool tool in version 10.12.
- Bypassing a problem encountered by users of DxO on certain lots of pictures (abnormal change in the size of one or two pixels).
- Compatibility Patch with the Leica case.
- Ability to remove EXIF control in preferences (fake HDR).
- Minor improvements.

Hi Sebastian! Glad to hear you are back in development. It would be terrific to see MarscaperHDR implement a polygon selection tool in the 'Brush' adjustment panel so that exposure blending of hard edged areas, like windows, is made more precise. The ability to select, add and subtract from the selection, and adjust the feather and expand/contract the edge of the selection would be ideal.
The manual adjustment tools take a little getting used to but eventually I was able to get my head around the approach and it seemed to work well.
It would also be nice to be able to load a single image that does contain a wide dynamic range, like a 32-bit EXR, TIFF or DNG, or even a 16bit DNG produced with the DualISO output from the Canon Magic Lantern firmware so that the MarscaperHDR tone mapping can be applied to these HDR image data.
Keep at it!
Thanks,
kirk

I kept notes of our private discussion. Improved brushes will be the next step with a selection tool.

A little trip and trick: now you can also export your original bracketed pictures. The export apply alignments you made and automatic cropping. It can be useful if you want to proceed a HDR with an other software that was not able to align correctly your pictures.

It's now possible to disable EXIF control in the pref menu. A a result, you can load several time the same image with exposure modified by the softwares you want. For a single image I must work on cause some peace of code must be disable cause MarScaper HDR is build for true HDR.
Some time ago, I worked on a direct DualIso integration but I've some technical issues with the Mac App Store.

I've been keeping an eye on this product for a while. The price is very fair, but i have never had a real reason to buy/try it out.
However, I'm downloading it now and looking forward to trying everything out this weekend.
